Established trees (Hermione obtained and planted the older ones from Kew Gardens) surround the Cottage, making perfect areas for outdoor meals and picnics - a treasured part of staying at Hermione Cottage.
Surrounded by nature
Take in the surrounding native bush complete with New Zealand Rimu, Tawa, Clematis and Rewarewa.
An abundance of birdlife - Tui, Kereru, Ruru and Bellbirds make their homes amidst the native and exotic trees around your Lake Tarawera accommodation, and many Black Swans, Pukeko, Australian Coots, Dabchicks and Scaup, amongst others, make for an ever changing view from the front deck.
Adjoining Hermione Cottage and running down to the lake is a flat wide open park; a popular place for cricket, croquet and picnics.
The property is fenced along the roadside but not fully fenced on the lake side (care must be taken with small children).
Your own private jetty
There is a boat ramp conveniently located just a few level metres from Hermione's gate and there is plenty of room onsite for parking your boat - maximum boat size is be around 20 metres.
